Sawyer's Complete Water Treatment System provides a safe and highly effective way to filter water with the bag to bag gravity flow system - no pumping, no waiting, no chemicals, and no worries! The system comes in two versions: the single bag (SP161 with one 2-liter bag, SP183 with one 4-liter bag) and the dual bag (SP162 with two 2-liter bags and SP184 with two 4-liter bags - one for dirty water and one for clean). The fast flow hollow fiber membrane uses pore sizes so small that sediment, bacteria, protozoa, cysts and other contaminants are removed to provide you with the highest level of filtration available. The filter removes 7 log (99.99999%) of all bacteria (like salmonella) as well as other harmful bacteria which causes cholera and E. coli and 6 log (99.9999%) of all protozoa such as giardia and cryptosporidium - exceeding EPA guidelines for removal rates. Ideal for backpacking, paddling, group camping, and emergency preparedness, the filtration process is practically hands free. Just hang the system from a tree or any source off the ground and watch gravity do all the work. In as little as 1.5 minutes you will have 2 liters of safe drinking water. You can even filter on the go by converting the clean water vessel into a hydration bladder for a pack with the included drinking tube. This filter does not remove dissolved solids, including chemicals and heavy metals. It's backed by a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty.Read More »

The Aquamira Frontier Pro portable water filter system provides all the benefits of a larger bottle filter in an ultralight, compact size. The Frontier Pro is a straw-style filter, with a design that attaches directly to water bottles or bladders and an attached cap that keeps mouthpieces clean. Once attached, the Frontier Pro will remove 99.9 percent of Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and other contaminants down to 3 microns. The filter's activated carbon--made using only the finest-quality coconut shell carbon--absorbs chemicals and odors and improves the taste of the filtered water. And thanks to the filter's Miraguard antimicrobial technology, the filter media resist the growth of bacteria, algae, fungus, mold, and mildew. Use the Frontier Pro filter to drink from any water bottle, cup, hydration system, or straight from the water source.
The Frontier Pro comes with a universal connectivity adapter system, which connects directly to any water bottle with a 28mm opening, such as a Platypus or a standard-size bottle. You can also use the tube connection feature to connect directly to your hydration system or drink tube, or drink directly from any open container or water source. And should you want to filter water in advance and drink later, you can flip the Frontier Pro into "gravity flow" mode. The filter measures 1.25 inches in diameter and 5.5 inches long and weighs 2 ounces dry.
The Frontier Pro filters up to 50 gallons. To lengthen filter life, use replacement pre-filters.
Note: Miraguard does not protect users against foodborne or disease-causing bacteria, viruses, or germs. If viruses or smaller bacteria are suspected, use in conjunction with Aquamira water purifier tablets.Read More »

Absolute Micron Filtering Technology Makes The Difference
The proprietary element of Sawyer’s water filters is comprised of tiny "U" shaped micro-tubes that allow water to enter into their core through tiny micro-pores. The high number of those tiny tubes and their surface area allows the filter to have one of the fastest flow rates in the world. This high flow rate eliminates the need to store water, reducing the possibility of water contamination after the filtration process.
Each filter is certified for absolute microns; that means there is no pore size larger than 0.1 in size. This makes it nearly impossible for harmful bacteria, protozoa, or cysts like E. coli, Giardia, Vibrio cholerae and Salmonella typhi (which cause Cholera and Typhoid) to pass through the Sawyer Mini filter. Sawyer filters have been tested by independent and qualified research laboratories and found to remove 7 log (99.99999%) of bacteria and 6 log (99.9999%) of protozoa, exceeding US EPA standards. The filter does not remove chemicals, dissolved solids, or viruses. However, viruses are very rarely found in North America or when traveling to foreign cities.
Sawyer's revolutionary filter technology is in use by hundreds of groups, including non-profit organizations, relief agencies, and governments in more than 70 countries around the world.
Frequently Asked Questions
How will I know when the filter is full?
The flow of water will slow down. However, it will never fail. Once the filter starts to slow down simply backwash it and it will be as good as new.
Is this good for kids at camp?
Yes! It is easy and safe. It couldn't be more perfect! Its small, lightweight and priced so that everyone can have their own filter. It doesn't need all the small parts and accessories of first generation filters to move from a hydration pack to a bottle to a pouch. It has it all!
Can I put the filter inline on my hydration pack?
Yes, connectors for your hydration pack hose are built into the filter.
Can I put the filter on a different / smaller bottle?
As long as the bottle has a "standard" thread you can. Most soda and disposable water bottles made worldwide use this thread.
How often should I clean the filter?
For longer filter life, you should backwash and sanitize the filter after every outing.
If I backwash it, will the bacteria in the city water grow in the filter?
Sawyer recommends sanitizing the filter before storing it. If you backwash the filter and then use it, bacteria from the city water will not grow.
Is it going to get clogged while I'm out on a trip?
Even with very high particulate /turbid water you should get 5 to 10 gallons through the filter. If this is not enough water for your trip you should either plan on field backwashing your filter.
